  • Campbellsville teams fall in All...

When Bardstown defeated Campbellsville 59-58 in the finals of the Campbellsville Holiday Classic in late December, the game was not decided until Connor Wilson’s last-second baseline jumper bounced off the rim.

It was only fitting that the rematch last Thursday in the opening round of the All “A” Classic was also decided on a shot at the end of the game.

  • Cards get first win in new arena

Finally, the Taylor County Cardinals have a win in their new Citizens Bank Arena.

Junior guard TreVon Smith scored a game-high 31 points, leading the Cardinals to a 56-45 win over Louisville Moore on Tuesday night.

“It’s a big momentum booster,” Smith said. “This is our first win at home and it was good to give our crowd a W. It’s good for momentum going forward. It feels good. We finally got the monkey off our back. It’s relieving, for real.”

  • Taylor takes down North Hardin,...

Despite a tough game through the first three quarters from the North Hardin Trojans (5-12), the Taylor County Cardinals (3-11) used good free-throw shooting down the stretch to pick up a 49-45 win last Thursday night at Ron Vevars Gymnasium.

The Trojans built a 10-1 lead to start the game, and the teams were tied after both the first two quarters, but the crawling pace meant baskets and runs were tough to come by.

No player finished with more than five rebounds and no one on North Hardin scored in double figures.
