  • Three-run fourth sends Bruins...

    Five Central Hardin batters reached base with two outs in a three-run fourth inning on Wednesday as Central Hardin eliminated Campbellsville 4-1 in a Fifth Region Baseball Tournament semi-final encounter on Ron Myers’ Field at Elizabethtown.
    The Bruins struck first with two-out, first-inning doubles by Andrew Harrington and Derek Westerfield off Eagle starter Lake Wiseman.

  • Dooley named CHS' head...

    Campbellsville High School only needed to go down the hallway to find its new head girls’ basketball coach.
    The Eagles tabbed Richard Dooley as the 11th head coach in girls’ hoop history as a replacement for Cameron Jackson, who announced a week earlier that he was taking the boys’ head coaching position at Berea High School.

  • CHS whips Washington 7-3

    Campbellsville High School knocked off Washington County 7-3 in the last first-round game in the Fifth Region Baseball Tournament on Monday night in Elizabethtown.
    The Commanders (18-19), who entered the game 15-3 vs. region foes and 3-15 outside the region, struck with two runs in the top of the first inning.
    Three of the first four Washington County batters got hits with Tyler Coulter’s double scoring lead-off batter Thomas Spalding and Trae Abell’s single plating Coulter.

  • Lady Dragons blank Lady Cards 3-0

    Taylor County High School’s Lady Cardinals stranded nine runners and were shut out by Green County 3-0 in the opening tilt of the Fifth Region Softball Tournament on Monday in Lebanon.
    The Lady Cardinals (28-10) started the noon game with a walk by Cheyenne Moran, who was sacrificed to second by Courtney Hunt. With two outs, Shelby Carney singled, but the hit was sandwiched between a pair of strike-outs by GCHS senior pitcher Summer Rattliff.

    When the name Jeff Kidder came up as a possible successor to Troy Young as Taylor County High School head boys’ basketball coach, the information churn began to flow.
