  • CU tastes first season defeat


    Lindsey Wilson College’s men’s squad tallied 18 of the final 27 points to pin the first loss on Keith Adkins' Campbellsville University Tigers 65-56.
    Kalen Kimberland and Wesley Hanspard each had 19-point games for the Blue Raiders while Jordan Myers’ 15 was tops for CU, who played without leading scorer Justin Ennis, who sat out the first tilt of a two-game suspension for fighting vs. UVA-Wise.

  • Lady Tigers start MSC slate at 3...

    The Lady Tigers of Campbellsville University connected on 11 three-point baskets, six in the game’s first eight minutes, to roll past Lindsey Wilson College 89-49 on Tuesday night in Mid-South Conference basketball action.
    Courtney Clifton led CU with six treys and 28 points while Mackenzie Lee had four threes and 16 points, Chelsea Craig 14 points and Katie Allen nine assists. Ashley Rainey paced LWC with 18 points and 12 boards.

    For the fifth consecutive year, Campbellsville University Fighting Tiger football closed its regular season with a victory.
    CU extended its win streak against first-year football programs as it went on the road to defeat Bluefield (Va.) College 23-14 across the state line at Mitchell Field in West Virginia.
    “I’m very proud of our guys. I’m proud of the way they played today and battled, and the way these guys battled all year,” CU coach Perry Thomas said.

  • Lady Tigers can't overcome...

    Campbellsville University’s Lady Tigers fell behind as many as 20 points, including 40-22 at the half, before fighting back and losing 72-66 at Huntington (Ind.) University on Monday night.
    Daizah Kimberland and Chelsea Craig paced CU with 14 points each while Courtney Clifton and Mrashi Karumba added 12 apiece for the Lady Tigers (2-1), who host Pikeville on Thursday and Virginia-Wise on Saturday.

  • Raceland eliminates CMS Eagles...

    Campbellsville Middle School fell to Raceland 50-28 in the Class A State semi-finals on Saturday in Lexington.
    Sixth-grader DeSean VanCleave was the Eagles’ Offensive Player of the Game with a rushing touchdown and a 46-yard receiving touchdown from Arick Groves.
    Groves also had an 84-yard kick-off return for a score and Stone Williams had a rushing touchdown.
    Devonte Cubit made both two-point conversions.
    Micah Corley was CMS’ Defensive Player of the Game.
    The Eagles finish their gridiron slate with an 8- worksheet.
