    Tyler and Laura Tucker of Campbellsville announce the birth of a daughter, Avery Marie, at 4:04 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. She weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce and was 19 inches long.

    Grandparents are Larry and Cindy Henderson of Nicholasville, Chris Tucker of Campbellsville and the late Jane Tucker.

    Great-grandparents are Lula Henderson of Huntsville, Ala., Ruth Waldrop of Nicholasville; Elwood and Peggy Tucker of Campbellsville and the late Thomas and Eleandor Cox, N.B. Henderson and Melvin Waldrop.

  • Durham honored for his 90th birthday

    John Durham, right, was recently honored for his 90th birthday at Palestine Baptist Church. He is pictured with interim pastor Dr. Charles Hedrick, who presented him with a gift card. Durham was 90 on May 17.

  • Rhoades-Beard

    Billy Joe and Becky Lowe of Greensburg announce the engagement of their daughter, JoAnne Raychel Rhoades, to Scott Anthony Beard, the son of Jack and Louann Beard of Campbellsville.

    Rhoades is a student at Western Kentucky University and employed at Dairy Queen.

    Beard is employed at TG Kentucky in Lebanon.

    The wedding ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 20 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Greensburg. A reception will follow at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Greensburg.

  • Watson donates to Locks of Love

    Hayley Noel Watson, 9, had 13 inches of her hair cut and donated it to Locks of Love, an organization that provides hair to children with medical-related hair loss. Watson is the daughter of Carlton and Rhonda Watson.

  • Greenes to celebrate anniversary Saturday, June 13

    Tommy and Jean Greene will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday.

    The Greenes were married on June 13, 1959.

    They have three children, Annette Sprowles and her husband, Mike, and Joey Greene and his wife, Amy, all of Campbellsville, and Scott Greene and his wife, LeAnne, of Louisville.

    The Greenes also have six grandchildren, Eric Sprowles, Hunter Sprowles, Spencer Greene, Andrew Greene, Katelynn Greene and Jackson Greene, and four great-grandchildren, Riley Sprowles, Holden Sprowles, Gracie Montgomery and Miley Sprowles.

  • Rockwell-Smothers

    Ashley Nicole Rockwell of Greensburg and Barney Lee Smothers of Campbellsville will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, June 20.

    Rockwell is the daughter of Chrys and Terry Runnels of Greensburg and the late Chuck Rockwell.

    Smothers is the son of Carolyn and Mark Smothers of Campbellsville.

    The wedding ceremony will take place at 3:30 p.m. at the Smothers' farm in Campbellsville. A double reception will follow at Mt. Roberts Baptist Church for the couple and her sister, Amanda Lynn Rockwell, and Aaron Keith Stillwell, who are marrying the same day.

  • Wilson-Rodgers

    Chasity Wilson and Christopher Rodgers, both of Lexington, will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, June 20.

    Wilson is the daughter of Daren and Suzanne Wilson of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are Larry and Arlene Smith, Paul and Betty Wilson and Leona Price, all of Campbellsville, and Marvin and Bunnie McCubbin of Tennessee.

    She is a 2004 graduate of Campbellsville High School.

    If the definition of an idol is something that you think about 29 hours a day, then "American Idol" is aptly named.

    This past season being my first-ever to watch, I'm proud to say that I didn't miss a single show, from the horrendous auditions to the incredible finale. For nearly half a year I've lived and breathed and found my meaning in "American Idol."

    Campbellsville High School graduate and Transylvania University senior Tara Dabney was recognized for being inducted into the Holleian Society during the university's awards program May 13.

    During the last 46 years, WHAS Crusade for Children has collected more than $70 million for needy children around Kentuckiana thanks to the help of local fire departments.

    Cadet Joshua Bryan Pike graduated from U.S. Maps Preparatory School at Fort Monmouth, N.Y. on May 21.

    Chelsey Marcum and Blake Penn were honored with a wedding shower on April 26 at Mannsville United Methodist Church.
