  • TCHS names Students of the Week


    Taylor County High School recently named its Students of the Week for the week of March 19-26.

    Campbellsville High School recently named its Students of the Week.

    They are Haley Ferguson, David Kearney, Taneisha Noyola, Dakota Antle, Breanna Underwood, Jeremy Dearing, Christina Giles and Michael Beard.

  • Campbellsville schools name academic achievers


    Campbellsville Independent Schools recently announced its academic achievers for the month of March. A boy and a girl from each school are named. Those recognized include:

    Kaden Benningfield is a first-grade student at CES. He is the son of Shannon Benningfield and Travis Smith. His favorite teacher is Karen Skaggs and reading is his favorite subject. He enjoys playing football. His future plans are to become a fireman.

    Tuesday - Spaghetti with meat sauce, tossed salad, hash brown, pineapple tidbits, garlic bread and milk.

    Wednesday - Soft chicken tacos with lettuce and cheese, refried beans, pears and milk.

    Thursday - Pizza, buttered corn, apple, chocolate pudding, vanilla wafers and milk.

    Friday - Professional Development. No school.

  • Schools donate to West Liberty tornado victims


    Members of the Campbellsville High School Beta Club, along with the Campbellsville Elementary School Safety Patrol, are shown with a portion of the items they donated to help tornado victims in West Liberty.

    The Campbellsville Middle School Beta club members are not pictured but also collected $300 to be used to purchase items for the community.

    Taylor County Elementary School recently named its Good Deed winners for the week of March 13.

    They are MaKenzie Barr, Alex Price, Mercedes Clifton, Kenzie Sprowles and Dayton White.

  • Recycling center compliance issues resolved

    Campbellsville’s top official says “noncompliance” to state regulations at the city’s recycling center has been corrected.

    At the Tuesday, March 13, meeting of the Taylor County Fiscal Court, Taylor County Judge/Executive Eddie Rogers told magistrates that he isn’t sure the county taking over operation of the recycling center is a good idea.

  • Green River Lake group seeking friends, supporters


    They’re looking for a few good friends.

    The Friends of Green River Lake group has been in existence for about two years now, and stands at about 45 to 50 strong. But there’s always room for more friends.

    Shawn Canada, the group’s treasurer, says the group is working on many projects, from installing new signs at campground trails to hosting an outdoor event for children.
