  • CHS graduation moves to Saturday afternoon

    This year's Campbellsville High School seniors will make history. School officials say they believe the seniors will be the first CHS students to graduate on a Saturday.

    At Monday night's regular Campbellsville School Board meeting, dates for the District's annual end of the school year events were set.

  • TCES student wins art contest


    Taylor County Elementary School student Arabella Long was the 2011 Jim Claypool Conservation Art Contest winner for Taylor County.

    Long's poster was the classroom winner as well as first-place winner at TCES. She then went on to win at the county level.

  • TCHS names Students of the Week


    Taylor County High School recently announced its Students of the Week for the week of March 26 through April 9.

    They are, from left, freshman Jacob Hiller, sophomore Robby Wilkerson, junior Nikki Rabbeth and senior Jonathon Rafferty.

  • TCES names Writers of the Week


    Taylor County Elementary School recently announced its Writers of the Week for the week of March 22.

    They are kindergartener Jamie Bryant, first-grader Abigail Blakeman, second-grader David Gwilliam, third-grader Hannah Phillips and fourth- and fifth-graders Nick Clements and Brady Cook.

  • TCHS senior showcase is April 15

    Taylor County High School will host its senior showcase and auction on Sunday, April 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the school's gymnasium.

    Admission is $5 for singles, couples and families. Refreshments will be served.

    Money collected will go toward the TCHS project graduation celebration.

  • Money tips for students

    A contract is a written agreement between two or more parties in which an offer is made and accepted.

    The Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority advises that students who are thinking about signing a contract should make sure they fully understand it first.

    Those who rent an apartment or have a cell phone plan probably signed a contract. Those who have taken out a federal student loan entered a contract when signing a master promissory note.

  • TCMS to stage mock disaster

    Taylor County Middle School will be the site of a mock disaster Friday, April 13, at 8:30 a.m.

    Taylor County Director of Pupil Personnel Angela Cook said the mock disaster will begin when officials will stage the shooting of a staff member. Students will be evacuated to the high school.

    The purpose of the event is to test the school's emergency plan.

    Campbellsville University has received the Vogt-Farrar Piano Collection, which consists of four historic pianos showing the evolution of the American piano industry from before the Civil War to the early 20th Century.

    A class of Campbellsville University freshmen is making a difference at the Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility, according to Dr. G. Ted Taylor, professor of Christian studies and director of Leadership/Character Development Institute at Campbellsville University.
