  • CES announces prince, princess and king, queen

     

    Campbellsville Elementary School recently announced the winners of its prince and princess and king and queen contests from the 2011-2012 school year.

    The runner-up prince and princess were William Nunn and Alexis Stone. Nunn is the son of Lawanda Nunn and Willie Nunn. Stone is the daughter of Freddie Stone.

    Prince and princess were A.J. Williams and Gracie Taylor. Williams is the son of Sabrina Grijalva and Anthony Williams Sr. Taylor is the daughter of Kati Cox.

  • TC students graduate from Rogers Scholars Explorers session

     

    Taylor County Middle School students Jilly Bruns, Sarah Dickens and Danielle Dickens have graduated from The Center for Rural Development's 2012 Rogers Explorers youth leadership program.

    The students put their math, science, and technology skills to work this summer attending the Rogers Explorers program from July 18-20 on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond.

    Campbellsville University's new staff members were introduced at a staff workshop July 27.

  • Money Tips

    One of the biggest steps to financial security is learning the difference between a need and a want, according to the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority. Students who have learned that difference will find that their bank accounts grow more quickly.

    Needs include clothes, food and, for most students, transportation.

    With clothes, a want may mean wearing only designer items, even though they cost more than other clothes that last just as long and look just as good.

    Tuesday - Chicken tenders, scalloped potatoes, seasoned carrots, banana, fruit and milk.

    Wednesday - Spaghetti with meat sauce, tossed salad, Gogurt, garlic bread, fruit and milk.

    Thursday - Beef tacos, chips with cheese and salsa, refried beans, sherbet, fruit and milk.

    Friday - Turkey, ham and cheese sub sandwich, mixed vegetables, corn on the cob, applesauce, fruit and milk.

  • Art professor receives CU tenured faculty award

    Campbellsville University art professor Linda J. Cundiff was presented the Campbellsville University Advancement Board's 20th annual Excellence in Teaching Award for tenured faculty recently.

    The award is given annually to a faculty member who has excelled. Cundiff was given the award by Randy Herron, chair of the CU Advancement Board, and board member Kimble Jessie.
