Two Campbellsville men were arrested on drug charges Saturday following an investigation.

According to a release from the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, 30-year-old Doug Wheeler and 33-year-old Donte Hatcher were arrested and face drug trafficking charges.

During a routine patrol, a deputy with the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office located Hatcher near a business on North Columbia Avenue. The report states that the deputy recognized Hatcher and knew that he had an outstanding warrant.

While placing Hatcher under arrest, a small bag of methamphetamine was located in Hatcher’s pocket, the TCSO report states.

Further investigating, deputies from TCSO were led to a vehicle parked near the location of the arrest, in which law enforcement discovered Wheeler operating the vehicle, according to the report. Wheeler was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.

An additional charge of possessing drug paraphernalia was placed on Wheeler due to the paraphernalia being in his vehicle.

The owner of the vehicle, Vickie Milby, was a passenger in the car and was arrested by Campbellsville Police officer Ryan Jewell and charged with public intoxication, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, the report states.

All three were lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center, according to the report, but Milby was not listed on the TCDC website’s list of inmates Monday morning.

Campbellsville Police Officers Jake Hedgespeth, Ryan Jewell, Josh Patrick, Charlie Houk, and David Tucker assisted at the scene.

Taylor County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Dickie Benningfield is the investigating officer in the incident.
