Campbellsville University's men could never get over the hump and dropped a 71-69 Mid-South Conference decision at home to the University of the Cumberlands on Thursday night.

The 7-12 Tigers trailed 40-26 in the first half and 40-31 at the intermission, but tallied 13 straight points to trail by only one (40-39) early in the second half.

However, the Patriots used an 11-2 run of their own to go back up by 10 (51-41) before CU tied the game at 51-51 on Zach Allender's three-point play and a Hristo Petkov lay-up from Shawn Savage.

But the Tigers could never get the second-half lead and dropped their fourth conference decision in as many tries.

Allender led Campbellsville with 33 points while Petkov had 17 and Savage 14.

The Tigers played at St. Catharine over the weekend.
