UPDATE: The Taylor County Sheriff's Office reports that Shawn Cochran was arrested at the Lucky Vista Hotel By Campbellsville Police and Taylor County Sheriff's Deputies at 12:45 p.m. today.

Kentucky State Police troopers and local law enforcement have ended a search for an individual that escaped from law enforcement custody Monday evening.

Shawn Cochran was arrested without incident and is lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center, according to the TCSO report. He will face additional charges according to the report. Those charges include theft of identity of another without consent and giving officers a false name. TCSO sayid that after Cochran was located, he priced a stolen Kentucky Identification Card, giving the deputies and officers a false name and address.

Authorities say that 35-year-old Shawn A. Cochran was being transported from Green County to the Taylor County Jail Monday evening when he escaped from the custody of the Green County transportation officer near the Campbellsville Water Company at approximately 6:20 p.m.

This is not Cochran’s first time trying to evade law enforcement. Cochran led officers on a two-day manhunt through Taylor and Green counties last month, according to a report from the Green County Sheriff’s Office.

According to that report, Cochran had a brief standoff with Green County Sheriff’s Deputies and Kentucky State Police in the Taylor’s Chapel area of Taylor County. Cochran fled on foot during that standoff and later stole a church van, fleeing from authorities in that vehicle.

Cochran was finally arrested after crashing the van that he had stolen and was then lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center on charges of first-degree burglary, fleeing or evading police, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, reckless driving, third-degree burglary, and theft by unlawful taking of an automobile.
