The body of a missing Campbellsville man was discovered on Christmas Day.

The Taylor County Coroner's Office was notified of the discovery of a deceased male near the intersection of Beartrack Road and Palestine Road Monday afternoon.

Coroner Daniel Cook confirmed the deceased male was Curtis Hunter Burton, 20, of Campbellsville.

Emergency personnel had responded to a call of a single-vehicle accident the night before, where Burton's pickup truck was found flipped over in a creek, but crews were not able to locate Burton.

First responders searched the area of the original call around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, and the search was reinstated Christmas morning around 10 a.m., according to reports, with Burton being discovered shortly after noon.

He was found approximately 2,500 feet from the accident scene, according to Cook.

Burton's body was taken to the state medical examiner's office, and Cook said although the investigation is ongoing, no foul play is suspected.
