It’s so easy to sit at home with an HD television and watch college basketball every night. That has really hurt the crowds at high school games and it was even more evident at last week’s Fifth Region Boys’ (Hart County) and Girls’ (Green County) Tournaments.
However, the atmosphere is still fantastic and making regional play still has a certain “air” about it.
It’s also a time for former players and coaches to congregate and reminisce about former teams, games and tourneys.

Marion County's Lady Knights raced out a 15-0 lead and never looked back in winning their seventh straight 20th District Tournament championship on Saturday night over Adair County in Columbia.

Makayla Epps, who would collect her third Most Oustanding Player in the last four years of the tourney, had 10 first-quarter points and finished with 19 while Kyvin Goodin-Rogers added 13, Patrice Tonge 10 and Logan Powell and Alexus Calhoun nine apiece.
