It’s a bittersweet day for Jesse Mings as he sits in his chair in the last row in section 32 of Rupp Arena.
He’s watching the opening round of the Sweet Sixteen, just as he has done for 54 of the past 55 years.
Mings is clad in his Taylor County cap and sweatshirt, beaming with pride as he talks about his hometown school being in the big dance.
But something’s missing.
