  • Russell County rolls past Lady...

    Campbellsville's Lady Eagles fell behind 12-3 at the first-quarter stop and lost a 52-40 home encounter to Russell County on Tuesday night.

    Amber Gamboa and Danielle Morris led the Lady Eagles with 15 and 13 points, respectively.

    Eighth-grader Leeann Grider had 27 for Russell County.

    Campbellsville visits Taylor County tomorrow at 6.

  • Lady Tigers bounce back from...

    Coach Ginger Colvin's Lady Tigers at Campbellsville University rebounded from losses last week to Shawnee State and Rio Grande and conquered King (Tenn.) College on Friday and IU-South Bend on Tuesday afternoon in the Powell Athletic Center.

    Whitney Ballinger had 22 points, while Courtney Danis (12), Megan Isaacs (12) and Kristi Ensminger (11) also reached double digits in the 84-48 rout of King.

    Isaacs had 18 and Danis 11 in the 85-71 win over IU-South Bend as Colvin used her 13-player team extensively in the matinee affair.

  • Cards clobber Bethlehem 70-38

    Taylor County had little trouble in disposing of Bethlehem 70-38 in make-up action on Tuesday in Bardstown.

    Chase Cox paced the Cardinals with 23 points, seven steals and three assists while Tyler Moss hit four first-half three-pointers for 12 points and Leonard Macon had 11 points and six rebounds.

    Macon picked up two early fouls and scored all of his points in the third quarter as he and Cox did not play in the fourth.

    Seniors Shane Morris and Michael Coulter added seven rebounds and three assists, respectively, for TCHS.

  • Eagles control Cards for boys...

    Campbellsville bested cross-town rival Taylor County 73-67 to claim the boys’ championship in the 14th Annual Coca-Cola Holiday Classic on Tuesday night at Campbellsville High.

    CHS got 24 points from Bryton Taylor while Matthew Davis had 19, Thomas Downs 11 and Michael McCubbin 10 to offset 28 points and 15 rebounds from TCHS’ Leonard Macon and 25 points by Chase Cox.

    Casey County claimed the girls’ title over Clinton County.

  • Eagle boys win see-saw affair at...

    Despite shooting 57 percent (30-53) from the field, Marion County dropped a 74-71 district decision to visiting Campbellsville on Friday.

    CHS trailed 21-17 before going on a 13-0 run in the first half and led by as many as 11 (37-26). However, Marion County (4-9) used a 19-2 sprint of their own to gain a 51-43 advantage in the second half and led by as many as nine.

  • Lady Knights blast Lady Eagles...

    Marion County’s Lady Knights (11-2) raced out to a 24-0 lead and cruised past the Campbellsville Lady Eagles (2-12) 63-22 on Friday night in Lebanon.

    Eighth-grader Makayla Epps paced Marion County with 22 points and Ashyya Robinson had eight for Campbellsville.
