  • Bardstown beats CHS in All...

    Bardstown rode a 12-7 spurt in the third quarter to a 62-52 victory over Campbellsville in the finals of the Touchstone Energy Boys' All "A" Classic at Bethlehem High on Friday night.

    It was the fourth straight championship for the Tigers who turned 29 Campbellsville turnovers into 31 points for the game.

    Coach Gary Goode's squad trailed at the half 27-24.

    "We didn't feel like we competed to the best of our ability in the first half," Goode said after the game.

  • Lindsey Wilson pulls out 65-62...

    The Campbellsville University men's team nearly made it a sweep on Thursday before falling to No. 16-rated Lindsey Wilson.

    The Tigers (7-10, 0-3) took a 51-50 second-half lead on Shawn Savage's trey and led again at 61-60 on Hristo Petkov's two free throws with 2:13 left. However, the Blue Raiders out-scored CU 5-1 down the stretch to improve to 15-2.

    Zach Allender led the Tigers with 28 points and Savage had 13, all in the second half.

  • Green County downs Lady Eagles...

    Campbellsville High School's Lady Eagles' quest for a title ended on Friday when they were upended by Green County 63-34 in the championship game of the Touchstone Energy Fifth Region All "A" Classic at Bethlehem.

    The Lady Dragons (15-3) used four first-half three-pointers and 14 points from Raegan Deaton to build a 32-15 half-time cushion and Kelsea Mitchell took over in the second half with 15 of her team-high 19 points.

  • Lady Eagles advance in All...

    Campbellsville's good foul shooting continued and the Lady Eagles used 23 of 33 accuracy at the line to upend homestanding Bethlehem 51-39 on Monday night in a first-round Touchstone Energy Fifth Region All "A" Classic clash.

    The Lady Eagles (4-14), who committed only nine turnovers, led much of the first half before the Banshees used a 7-0 run to lead 29-22 with 5:23 left in the third quarter.

    However, CHS used an 11-0 stretch of its own to regain the lead for good at 33-29.

  • Eagles and Lady Eagles upend...

    Campbellsville High School's boys' and girls' basketball squads posted victories over Washington County on Wednesday in Touchstone Energy Fifth Region All "A" Classic semi-final games at Bethlehem.

    Coach Tim Davis' Eagles used a three-point play by Bryton Taylor on a feed from Michael McCubbin to best the Commanders 62-59.

    Taylor led CHS (13-6) with 19 points while McCubbin had 14 (plus six rebounds) and Thoams Downs 12.

  • Bramblett's banked-in three...

    Jordan Bramblett banked in a three with 1.7 seconds left to lift North Hardin past Taylor County 59-58 on Friday night in the Cardinals’ gymnasium.

    The game was a series of runs with North Hardin leading 23-11 as senior forward Greg Johnson tallied 17 early points including a baseline dunk with 6:47 left in the half.

    However, Taylor County went to its three-point arsenal (three by Tyler Moss and two by Chase Cox) and out-pointed the Trojans 25-10 to lead 36-33 at the intermission.

  • Lady Tigers, Georgetown men post...

    Campbellsville University and Georgetown College split a Mid-South Conference basketball doubleheader on Saturday in the Powell Athletic Center.

    The Lady Tigers led by more than 20 points before posting a 77-67 triumph in the opener while the No. 3-rated Georgetown men rolled past CU 84-56. The Tiger men played the game without injured starters Kyle Martin and Aaron Wyatt.

    Courtney Danis had 17 points and Whitney Ballinger had 15 points and 14 rebounds for the Lady Tigers while Zach Allender had 29 points and 10 rebounds and Shawn Savage 10 points for the men.

  • Cardinals handle pesky Hart with...

    Leonard Macon's conventional three-point play late in the third quarter gave Taylor County the lead for good and the Cardinals posted a 67-51 home win over a scrappy Hart County squad on Tuesday.

    Tyler Moss hit a pair of three-point hoops to end the third, and Chase Cox tallied nine of his game-high 21 points in the fourth.

    Macon totaled 17 points while Lloyd Stotts added 11.

    The Cardinals (11-5) host Marion County in a boy/girl doubleheader tomorrow with the homecoming queen crowned between games.

  • CHS downs Bethlehem in All...

    Campbellsville lost an eight-point lead but rebounded to knock off host Bethlehem 61-52 in a first-round game in the Touchstone Energy Fifth Region All "A" Classic on Monday night.

    The Eagles (12-6), who conquered Meade County in a regular-season make-up game on Saturday, overcame Bethlehem's 16-1 third-quarter run with a 10-0 stretch of their own as Bryton Taylor scored six of his game-high 22 points during the run and forwards Michael McCubbin and Jordan Percell hit lay-ups.
