Despite six turnovers, Taylor County began its 2011 football season with a 21-0 road win at McCreary Central on Friday night.
The game was delayed by an hour due to heavy rain and lightning, but it did not dampen the debut of Eric Graves as Cardinals’ head coach.
“Other than the turnovers we played well,” Graves admitted. “Our defense stood out. It had in the scrimmages and it did again tonight.
“We do have to get better at tackling and that will come. But, the boys played well and did what we expected of them.
