  • Lady Tiger volleyball plays...

    Campbellsville University will go on the road to defend two straight NCCAA Mid-East Championships this week when the Volley Tigers travel to Indiana with pool play beginning on Thursday.
    “The team has been working very hard in practice,” coach Amy Eckenfels said. “They understand we have been given a great opportunity to compete in the NCCAA region at Oakland City and hopefully advance to the nationals.”

  • Tigers use Henderson’s buzzer-...

    First-year Tiger point guard Cedric Henderson drained a 17-foot jumper at the buzzer to pull Campbellsville University past  No. 22 Union (Tenn.) University  68-66 on Tuesday night.
    It’s the third straight year the Tigers have taken down a higher-ranked Union on its home floor.

  • No. 2 Union rallies past Lady...

    Campbellsville went on a three-minute drought to start the second half and never fully recovered in dropping a 69-56 decision Monday night to No.-2 ranked Union University.
    “I’m disappointed,” coach Ginger Colvin said. “They have a really nice team. We played super the first half and in the second half we got away from it.”
    The Lady Tigers committed 22 turnovers and could manage but 22 points after intermission. Twice during the second half, CU committed three consecutive turnovers allowing Union to construct a 62-52 lead.

    Campbellsville University closed out the 2011 regular season Saturday with a 32-23 victory over West Virginia University’s Institute of Technology at HIG Field and Finley Stadium. The Senior Day victory gives the Tigers their third-straight winning record in a regular season for the first time since the mid-1990s.

  • CU hosts NCCAA Victory Bowl on...

    Campbellsville University will host Greenville College for the 2011 Victory Bowl on Saturday (1:00) at Finley Stadium, the National Christian College Athletics (NCCAA) announced Sunday evening. Kickoff time is set for 1 p.m. ET.
    The game will be televised on WLCU-TV on Comcast Cable channel 22 in Taylor County and will be streamed live online. Also, radio coverage of the game will be provided locally by WLCU 88.7 FM (wlcufm.com).
