  • Lady Cards eliminated by Green...

    Taylor County High School’s tough first-round draw turned into elimination as the Lady Cardinals lost to Green County 11-1 in five innings in the Fifth Region Tournament on Monday afternoon at LaRue County.
    The Lady Cardinals, who finish the season at 14-16, scored their only run on Hannah Milby’s fifth-inning hit.
    Green County (29-7) fell to Central Hardin in Tuesday’s semifinals while LaRue County went 10 innings to beat North Hardin 7-6 in the other final four match-up. Central Hardin shut out LaRue County 11-0 for the tourney title.

  • Cox leads Cardinals' minor...

    Zack Cox’s first six games as a professional were not what he had grown accustomed to as a high school player at Campbellsville, Taylor County or Pleasure Ridge Park or as a collegian at the University of Arkansas.
    He started out 3-18 (.167) for the Palm Beach Cardinals in the Florida State League at Jupiter. But, it didn’t take the St. Louis Cardinals’ minor league third baseman long to get in a groove.

  • Adair edges Lady Cards in...

    Adair County pushed across two runs in the bottom of the seventh innning to down Taylor County 3-2 in the 20th District Softball Tournament championship game on Wednesday in Lebanon.

    The Lady Cardinals completed their 12-7 victory over the host Marion County Lady Knights and led 2-0 over Adair County on a second-inning RBI single by Hannah Milby and a Lady Indian throwing error in the fourth.

    Both teams advance to the Fifth Region Tournament on Monday at LaRue County.

  • Levi-, Murray-led Eagles reach...

    Behind senior Taylor Levi’s 11-strikeout performance, the Campbellsville High School Eagles defeated Marion County 6-2 on Wednesday to advance to the 20th District Baseball Tournament finals.

    Levi also hit a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning.  With the game tied 1-1, senior Levi Murray hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the fourth to give the Eagles the lead for good.
