  • Watson wins Super Late Model...

Campbellsville’s Jeff Watson had won at other tracks, but never at Bluegrass Speedway. That is no longer the case as Watson wheeled to the 44 Auto Mart Super Late Model victory on Saturday evening in Bardstown.

For the first time since 2003, Sprint Car racing returned to Bluegrass Speedway with the American Sprint Car Tour delivering the action and Hud Cone of Oakland City, Ind. collected the A-Main win. Lastly, Timmy Glazer of Bardstown scored his second win of the season in the $300-to-win special for UMP Street Stocks.

  • It's a rarity when CHS or...

When checking the most recent history of the baseball district tournaments and all of the softball district tournaments, anyone is quick to realize the local schools have been quite dominant in post-season play in spring diamond sports.

Since 1970, there have been only five times that Campbellsville or Taylor County did not finish first in the district baseball tournament (36 of 41 for a percentage of .878), and 17 times in those 41 years they both (like this year) were in the finals.

  • Lady Cards' six-year win...

Taylor County’s six-year 20th District Tournament winning streak was halted when Marion County’s Lady Knights blanked the Lady Cardinals 4-0 on Tuesday afternoon in the championship game.

Marion County, which won the title in 2003, had hits in every inning but the third and out-hit Taylor County 12-3 as junior Allye Hamilton authored the shut-out.

The Lady Cardinals’ lone safeties came from Becca Cook (double and single) and a single from Kasey Gribbins.
