  • CHS loses pair of one-run games...

    Campbellsville lost a pair of one-run games on Thursday and Friday to finish 1-4 at the Florida Beach Bash.
    The Eagles began the week by being blanked by Lone Oak 6-0 on Sunday.
    Taylor Levi had a single and double for CHS while Brett Kearney doubled and Levi Murray, Mason Wethington and Stealth Townley had singles.
    Campbellsville’s lone Florida win came on Monday in a 16-6 triumph over Fairdale.
    Hayden Neal went the first five innings to get the win with Lake Wiseman tossing an inning.

  • Lady Eagles win two, lose two at...

    Campbellsville High School’s Lady Eagles were shut out twice, but still managed a 2-2 trip to the Florida Beach Bash last week.
    The Lady Eagles (3-6) fell to ranked Glasgow 4-0 on April 3 with Tiffany Slone and Melanie Brockman having a single and walk each for CHS.
    On April 4, Campbellsville hammered Fairdale 21-1 in three innings with Jessie Cash and Karissa Atkinson going 3-4. Brenna wethington had two hits and four RBI while Cash, Atkinson, Hannah Taylor and Amythyst McColley all had three-RBI games.

  • CU uses broom on Georgetown twice

    Campbellsville University battled its way to two more wins, 4-2 and 3-2, Saturday to complete a weekend sweep of Georgetown College at Tiger Baseball Field. The sweep gives Campbellsville a six-game win streak and a five-game lead in the Mid-South Conference West Division.

  • Lady Tigers sweep Shawnee State

    Campbellsville University had 15 hits in a 12-4, six-inning game against Shawnee State, but needed Martina Riney to snuff out a seventh-inning rally to secure a 5-4 win and a softball sweep Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park.
    The Lady Tigers (17-20, 9-5 MSC) plated four- and five-run frames in the fifth and sixth to burst open a 3-3 tie in game one. Becca Cook had a big day at the plate with three hits and three RBI. Kacie Vincent also had three hits, all singles.

  • Arvin takes football reins at...

    Lost in all the hoop talk in this basketball-crazy area and state comes the news that former Campbellsville High School football and baseball player David Arvin is the new head football coach at Grant County.
    Arvin, who was an assistant this past season at Washington County, previously was a coach at Lassiter in Marietta, Ga. and at Christian County in Kentucky.
