Taylor County did not expect a "walk in the park" and, despite jumping out to a 17-point advantage, had to battle cross-town rival Campbellsville to the end before posting a 68-60 triumph in Paul J. coop Gymnasium.
"We knew it would be a tough game," said Cardinal coach Troy Young whose team improves to 3-0. "We didn't expect to come over here and walk over them.
"We knew it would a physical game and it was."
Lloyd Stotts and Michael Coulter nailed a pair of three-pointers, which ignited the Cardinals to their early 25-8 lead.
