  • Eagles square record at 4-4

    Campbellsville out-scored Green County 17-12 in the third period and 16-14 in the final frame to claim a 51-47 road victory vs. Green County on Dec. 22.
    Coach Tim Davis’ club squared its record at 4-4 before the 20th Campbellsville Holiday Classic over the weekend.
    Senior Damontez Smith again paced the Eagles with 16 points while junior A.J. Vaught claimed a game-high 12 rebounds, 9 defensively.
    Junior Chad Emmons led the Dragons with 16 points and also pulled down seven rebounds.

  • CU hoop teams head to new year...

    The third win was the charm as coach Ginger Colvin picked up her 200th head coaching victory at Campbellsville University when her Lady Tigers bested Montana-Western on the third day of the Las Vegas Classic on Dec. 20.
    The No. 5 Lady Tigers began on Dec. 18 with a 46-40 victory over Carroll College of Montana.
    Lindsey Burd paced Campbellsville with 16 points while Caroline Owen had nine a team-high seven rebounds.
    Westminster (Calif.) was victim number 2 in Las Vegas as CU posted a 56-53 triumph on Dec. 19.

  • Cards clipped in KOB finals

     

    After defeating Doss 94-83 in Monday's semi-finals, Taylor County lost 59-56 in the championship game to St. John's (D.C.) on Tuesday night in the 34th annual Forcht Bank King of the Bluegrass Holiday Classic at Fairdale.

    Brandon Berry had 25 points and 12 rebounds in the title tilt while Quentin Goodin scored 16. Goodin and David Sloan were named to the all-tournament team.

    Damontez Smith paced Campbellsville to its third win of the season in a 46-37 triumph over Barren County in the McDonald’s Hoopin It Up Classic at Adair County.
    Smith, a senior guard, played all 32 minutes and had 12 points, four rebounds and three steals as the Eagles stopped a four-game losing streak.
    CHS hosts the 20th annual Campbellsville Holiday Classic beginning Friday. The eight-team tourney has four games each day through Sunday.
