    Taylor County’s Lady Cardinals captured tennis matches over Marion County, Thomas Nelson, Campbellsville and Barren County over a five-day stretch while the Taylor County boys’ squad went 3-1.

  • Eagles stop short skid with 13-3...

     

    Campbellsville High (3-5) stopped its four-game losing streak in a big way with a 13-3 triumph over Spencer County on the Eagles’ home turf on Thursday night.
    CHS came out with hot bats and used good pitching from Chase Thomas (nine strike-outs) to prevail in five innings.
    Cody Houk had two hits and knocked in five runs while Julian Piece had two doubles and three RBI and Zach Durham three hits and two RBI.
    Thomas and Barrera each added singles for Kirby Smith’s team.

  • Taylor County keeps rolling with...

    Taylor County High School improved its baseball won-loss ledger to 7-0 with a 5-1 home victory over Hart County on Wednesday and a 13-2, five-inning triumph at Green County on Thursday.
    Jordan Nicholas picked up the complete-game victory vs. Hart County with four strike-outs, no walks while scattering four hits.
    Justice Gregory and John Robert Wood had two-hit games for the Cardinals while Dalton Brown doubled and Tyler Frogge, Daniel Carney and Hunter McQueary singled.

  • Sanders reaches 1,000

    Beauford Sanders reached the 1,000 coaching victory plateau on Saturday when his Campbellsville University baseball Tigers upended Cumberland (Tenn.) University 10-1 on Saturday afternoon in game one of a Mid-South Conference doubleheader.
    Sanders, who won 268 games at North Greenville Community College (now North Greenville University) in South Carolina, has won 732 times at Campbellsville.

  • KCA finishes second at archery...

     

    Kentucky Christian Academy’s archery team came in second place (out of 49 teams) in the elementary division at the Kentucky State NASP Archery Tournament in Louisville on March 18. KCA, who had a team score of 3,171, will be competing at nationals in May.

  • CHS crushes Caverna 19-2,...

    Campbellsville High School split its last two baseball tilts and stand 2-2 before Monday’s game at Nelson County.
    The Eagles rolled past Caverna 19-2 on the road Thursday night as Zach Durham went 3-5 with four runs batted in and Owen Weeks, Cody Houk and Austin Hash had two hits apiece.
    Chase Thomas had a solo home run to lead off the second and had two sacrifice flies for a three-RBI game and Hash had two singles, a walk and was hit by a pitch for three more RBI.
    Houk and J.T. Holmes had two RBI apiece.
