Taylor County High School boys’ golf team improved to a tie for third, after finishing fifth last year at the Leachman Buick GMC Cadillac KHSAA State Tournament at Bowling Green Country Club. The Cardinals went from 628 in 2016 to 590. The Cardinals were led by junior Cooper Parks' sixth-place finish while Luke Coyel tied for 16th, Clay Barnett and Tanner Parks tied for 30th and Logan Peterson tied for 44th.

Taylor County scored on the last play of the first half to lead home-standing East Jessamine on Friday night.
However, the host Jaguars put up three third-period touchdowns and held on for a 28-20 district triumph in Nicholasville.
The Cardinals led 6-0 early in the second period on Tre Goodin’s 54-yard pass touchdown pass to Cameron Kosid out of punt formation.
However, East Jessamine led 7-6 before Darien Bishop’s interception at :39 set up Logan Parker’s burst from two yards out.
Bishop caught the go-head conversion from Goodin.

  • Battle between Eagles to decide...

The last eight games between Campbellsville and Bethlehem have been some strange deals.
The last two, just like tomorrow’s encounter on Dave Fryrear Field, have been district battles. CHS fell 14-13 at home two years ago and Bethlehem pulled away for a 22-8 triumph in Bardstown last season.
The previous six contests between the sets of Eagles were back-and-forth with each team winning six.
Campbellsville went 2-1 at Bardstown with a 33-21 loss in 2013 while Bardstown went 2-1 on the road with its only loss coming 36-0 in 2014.
