  • Tigers roll over Reinhardt for...

    The long wait is over. Campbellsville University Fighting Tiger football is Mid-South Conference West Division Co-Champions after shutting down No. 22 Reinhardt University, 31-14, on the road Saturday.
    The conference title is CU’s third in program history and first since 1997. The win also clinches a spot in the NAIA Football Championship Series for the first time since 2001. Campbellsville is co-champions with No. 10 Faulkner University (4-1 MSC West), but holds the NAIA automatic bid tiebreaker with its win a week earlier.

    Ellen Kehoe, a Taylor County High School senior, signed her NCAA National Letter-of-intent with the University of Louisville on Nov. 12. Kehoe earned all-region and all-state honors while leading her squad to a sixth-place showing at the Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac/KHSAA State Tournament in Bowling Green last month.

    Campbellsville University’s men’s and women’s basketball squads remained undefeated with doubleheader wins over Miami-Middletown on Saturday and St. Joseph (Vermont) on Monday in home tilts.
    The Lady Tigers hammered Miami 106-39 as five Campbellsville players scored in double figures — Lexxus Graham (22), Caroline Owen (19), Lindsey Burd (18), Lindey Young (16) and Daizah Kimberland (11).

    Taylor County High School will be the site of a five-game day of high school boys’ basketball scrimmages on Saturday afternoon and night.
    The top three teams in the Sixth Region will be in the field as will host school Taylor County, picked first or second in the Fifth Region, along with Warren Central (chosen second behind Bowling Green in the Fourth Region) and Second Region favorite Hopkinsville.
