  • H&W Classic crowns baseball...

     

    Beast Mode and Dirt Dawgs claimed 8U and 6U tournament titles in the H&W Sport Shop Baseball Classic claimed the 8U Tournament over the July 23-24 weekend at the H&W Sport Shop Baseball Classic at Veterans Memorial Park.

    The 6U Home Run Champion was Dax Gray while Isaac Burress won the 8U HR Derby trophy.

    Twins Baseball Academy sign-up for fall leagues tonight from 6-7
    Twins Baseball Academy will conduct two fall baseball leagues — Coach Pitch League for ages 6-9 (2017 ages) and Player Pitch League for ages 9-12 (2017 ages). The cost is $50 with checks payable to TBA, LLC. Sign-ups will be held at the Miller Park Pavilion near the concession stand on Thursday, July 28 from 6-7 p.m. Online registration is available at www.twinsacademy.com.   • Falls shoots for firsts

     

    This past school year MaCayla Falls was a fifth grade student at Kentucky Christian Academy.
    Falls was the first place elementary girl at the Kentucky State Individual Tournament. She won a target at this event. Falls continued her trek with a first-place elementary girl finish at the NASP national tournament where she won a custom bow and a target. At the NASP World Tournament in Myrtle Beach, Falls placed second out of 582 girls in the elementary girl division. She won custom arrows, a wrist sling and a quiver.

    Just a few weeks after Brent Vernon was hired as the men’s basketball coach on June 28, he will now have a very familiar assistant coach sitting beside him on the bench. Mark Vernon, the older brother of Brent, was hired as the top assistant for the Tigers on July 5.

  • Doss' 64 puts him in...

     

    Alex Doss shot a 7-under 64 to claim first place in a qualifier at Glasgow Country Club on July 11. The finish, which was three shots ahead of rest of the 29-man field, qualifies he and 10 others (73 or better) for the Kentucky Open at the University of Louisville Golf Club in Simpsonville on July 26-28. Doss will be a junior next month at Campbellsville High School.
