Lady Cardinals divide games against 18th District softball foes
Taylor County defeated LaRue County 7-5 on April 26 as Hannah Howard went the first 5 2/3 innings and Karissa Mings recorded the final four outs.
Haley Franklin’s three-run homer was huge for the Lady Cardinals.
Last Thursday, Taylor County (21-8) dropped a 2-0 decision at Green County as Kasey Estes struck out 13 for the Lady Dragons while allowing only two hits — a single by Franklin and a double to Hannah Milby.

Marion County High School captured the girls' and boys' 20th District Basketball Tournament championships at Taylor County High School.

The Lady Knights bested Adair County 70-47 on Friday while the Knights upended Taylor County 67-51 on Saturday.

Marion County’s Lady Knights tallied the game’s first 13 points with all five starters scoring and shellacked the Lady Eagles of Campbellsville 74-25 in the opening game of the 20th District Tournament at Taylor County on Tuesday.
Logan Powell scored 10 of her game-high 16 points in the first half while Makayla Epps totaled  11 and the Lady Knight bench finished with 27 points (eight each by Alexis Calhoun and Emily Fenwick and seven by Coco May).
Brittany Vaught paced the Lady Eagles (10-21) with 13 points.
