    Bethel returns favor, beats Lady Tigers in last minute, 66-65
    Ginger Colvin is a former elementary school teacher, so she knows a little something about quizzes when gauging student progress. She also knows you can’t use trick questions.
    Her women’s basketball team had received solid marks following the Lady Tigers’ first two games, winning both by an average margin of 60 points. But Saturday her squad stepped up in class in McKenzie, Tenn., and CU got its first real test against No. 19 Bethel University.

  • Tigers overpower West Va. Tech, qualify for Victory Bowl

    With a 56-35 win at West Virginia University Tech on Saturday, Campbellsville University clinched its first trip to a postseason game since 2001.
    The Fighting Tigers will conclude their “Over the Top” campaign Nov. 20 in the National Christian College Athletic Association Victory Bowl - the association’s national championship for football.

  • CU gridders score 35 early, last touchdown for 45-42 Mid-South Conference East triumph at Virginia-Wise

    Who needs a two-minute offense when you have a 40-second offense? Campbellsville University and the University of Virginia College at Wise combined for 17 points in the final 1:40 of the game Saturday and nearly made it 20, but UVA-Wise missed a field goal as time expired to give Campbellsville a 45-42 Mid-South Conference East Division win on the road.

  • No. 4 Lady Tigers stomp Morris, Wilberforce

    Women’s basketball at Campbellsville University took up where it left off 226 days ago, as the Lady Tigers took to the hardwood and defeated Morris College 91-40 in their season opener on Saturday.
    Campbellsville scored the first 10 points of the game and led 24-5 with 13 minutes left in the first half when Alexia Williams deflected a pass and scored on a lay-up.
    All-American Whitney Ballinger led CU at the break with 15 points and finished the game with 19. But nine of CU’s players logged double-digit minutes in the game, seven with more than 18.

  • Lady Tigers tip off season on Saturday at home

    Season No. 4 begins in the Ginger Colvin era on Saturday when the Campbellsville University Lady Tigers host Morris College (S.C.) at noon.

    Colvin’s squad returns most of the players off last season’s 33-3 squad, which fell to Oklahoma City in the NAIA National Tournament quarterfinals.

    Heading the list of returnees is NAIA National Player of the Year Whitney Ballinger (6-3).
