  • CU's Homecoming rally comes up short

    When Campbellsville University and the University of the Cumberlands meet one can usually count on the game coming down to the final possession. Neither team disappointed the Homecoming crowd at Finley Stadium and HIG Field on Saturday, but the Tigers came up short on a comeback try, falling 20-13.

  • CU gridders fall 31-6 at Georgetown

    Campbellsville University was unable to get started offensively Saturday as the visiting Tigers were held to 232 yards on the road at Georgetown College as part of a 31-6 loss.
    David Hon scored the Tigers only points with a pair of field goals, each from the 34-yard-line.
    It was a heavy defensive day for Campbellsville, spending 36 minutes on the field through 77 plays.

  • CU can't escape nine-turnover tilt

    Despite turning the ball over a record nine times, Campbellsville University rallied in the final four minutes of the game to pull within a touchdown of the University of Pikeville in a 37-30 upset at Finley Stadium’s HIG Field Saturday.
    “It’s hard to beat anyone with nine turnovers, but I thought defensively, we played a pretty good game,” CU head coach Perry Thomas said.

  • Tigers cruise in Hwy 55 battle

    Kentucky Highway 55 continues to be in control of the Campbellsville University Fighting Tigers, as CU rolled away with a 56-25 over neighboring rival Lindsey Wilson College.
    The Saturday night win at Blue Raider Stadium gives the Tigers a 1-0 lead in the Mid-South Conference East Division and a 2-0 series lead in the Highway 55 Battle.

  • No. 17 CU Tigers fall at NCAA D-3 power Whitewater

    Injuries slowed the Campbellsville University Fighting Tigers from the opening kickoff Saturday, as 17th-ranked Tigers fell at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, 54-14, inside Perkins Stadium.
    Whitewater showed why it is the two-time defending NCAA Division III national champions by racking up 571 yards of total offense for its 33rd consecutive win. Campbellsville was held to a season-low 254 yards in its first loss of the season.

  • Lady Tigers, St. Catharine prevail in MSC doubleheader

    No. 3 Lady Tigers roll
    past St. Catharine 92-69
    Campbellsville University used a balanced offensive attack Saturday to down St. Catharine College 92-69 and opened a five-game Mid-South Conference road trip victorious.
    The win gives the Lady Tigers sole possession of first-place in the MSC at 7-0 as University of the Cumberlands fell on the road to Shawnee State University.

  • Lady Tigers move to 5-0 in conference race

    Campbellsville University’s Lady Tigers connected on 36 of 43 free throws for an 85-76 Mid-South Conference decision over Pike-ville College on Thursday night in the Powell Athletic Center.
    The No. 3-rated Lady Tigers (12-2 overall and 5-0 against conference foes) led by nine (35-26) at the break before the pesky Lady Bears (9-5, 0-5) trimmed the deficit to 55-54.
    However, coach Ginger Colvin’s club used a 10-3 run and never looked back as Campbellsville’s charity stripe shooting was paced by Whitney Ballinger’s 14-17 effort.

  • Tigers lose at home to Pikeville

    Campbellsville University fought back from a 15-point half-time deficit but could get no closer than three in the second half and dropped an 87-76 Mid-South Conference home game to Pikeville College on Thursday.
    After the Bears (14-3 overall and 3-2 in the MSC), led 44-29 at the intermission, coach Keith Adkins’ Tigers (9-6, 3-2) out-scored the visitors 18-8 to trail by only five (52-47) with 16 minutes to play.

  • CU hoop teams post MSC sweep in make-up action

    Defense has been the central theme of Campbellsville University head coach Keith Adkins’ sermon all week, mainly to hold opponents below 65 points.
    That’s exactly what happened in Monday’s Mid-South Conference makeup game, as the Tigers held University of Virginia’s College at Wise to its lowest offensive production of the season in a 74-55 home win at Powell Athletic Center. It’s the 20th win all-time against the first-year Mid-South Conference member.
