Didi Marie of Louisville recently attended a hair loss certification class in Atlanta, Ga. Marie is a certified hair loss specialist, which allows her to work with dermatologists and oncologists.

As such, Marie is available for referrals to help Campbellsville residents.

Marie was encouraged to participate in the Look Good, Feel Better class through the American Cancer Society to help women who are suffering hair loss as they undergo chemotherapy.

Porter’s Playhouse, owned by Gary and Tammy Porter, recently opened at 906 Lebanon Ave.

The daycare center is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and is for children ages 5 through 12.

An Elk Horn man has been arrested and charged with making methamphetamine.

Samuel L. Trulock, 28, of 747 Dry Creek Road, was arrested Friday, May 31, at 12:19 a.m.

According to Trulock's arrest warrant, he allegedly had the equipment and materials in his vehicle on Jan. 14 and intended to use them to make meth.

Trulock was charged with making meth and buy/possession of drug supplies.

Taylor County Sheriff's Deputy Mark Dickens investigated.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges in Taylor District Court on Monday, June 3.

St. Catharine College recently announced the list of students who have achieved academic success for the spring 2013 semester, and several Taylor County natives are included.

The dean's list includes students who had a grade point average of 3.6 to 3.999.

Students from Taylor County who are named to the list include Miriah Cox, Charles Phillips and Erin Sanders.

The president's list includes students who completed 12 college-level credit hours and maintained a 4.0 GPA.
