The Campbellsville woman who participated in a prostitution ring has received probation for her crimes, but will have to serve 180 days in jail first.

Kimberly Campbell, 21, of 1669 Gaddis Ridge Road, was indicted by a Taylor County grand jury last year, along with Adulfo De Aquino-Cancino, 28.

Campbell was charged with two counts of promoting the sale of a minor.

De Aquino-Cancino was charged with two counts of selling of a minor and first-degree unlawful transaction with two minors, one of which was under 16.

Campbellsville native Hannah Ellis recently sang her song "Let It Be Me" at the Fallen Officer's Memorial Service on the West Lawn of the United States capital in honor of National Police Week.

She shared the stage with country music star Lee Brice who sang his song "I Drive Your Truck."

President Barack Obama was the keynote speaker.

Also in attendance was Speaker of the House John Boehner and many members of the president's cabinet.

Jesse Durham won't face a jury in October after all.

Durham, 21, the Campbellsville man accused of killing his great-grandmother with a hammer and assaulting a jail deputy while incarcerated, appeared in court on Tuesday for another hearing in his murder case.

At the hearing, Public Defender C.B. Bates, who is representing Durham, told Taylor Circuit Court Judge Allan Bertram that the public defender's investigator has resigned.

The man who allegedly shot and killed another Campbellsville man has been denied a request for his $500,000 cash bond to be lowered, which would have given him a chance at freedom while his murder case moves forward in court.
