  • K-Country Showdown showcases local talent

From The Band Perry to Willie and Waylon, the notes struck a chord with everyone who came out to listen to the 33rd annual K-Country Showdown last Thursday. Part of Campbellsville's Fourth of July Celebration, the event is popular among country music fans and supporters of local talent.

  • Wife thanks those who honored, remembered her husband

I am writing this letter to thank you for the coverage and the article that was written about my husband, Stephen Green. I want to give a special thank you to Calen McKinney for her choice of photo that was used in the initial coverage that appeared in the Monday, June 9, paper. The photo was non-intrusive and tactful, making it easy for the family and also our friends.

  • Library staff thanks helpers

The Taylor County Public Library would like to thank all of those that helped in any way during our first ever "How to Festival."

  • Woman thanks fire and rescue

I would like to thank Taylor County Fire & Rescue.

When I was desperate and helpless on May 22, as I was awakened by the powerful microburst storm that was taking away part of my house. The roof and telephone were gone with it. I couldn't call anywhere for help, when they came to my door and rescued me. Thank you.

  • Celebrating our freedom

    John "Bam" Carney

    State Representative

We are only a day away from marking the 238th anniversary of our Declaration of Independence, when a young nation stood up against the oppression of the British monarchy and sought to create a country "for the people, and by the people."

  • In need of a hug?

She sits among several of her fellow residents at the long-term care facility I visit, ensconced in her wheel chair, sometimes napping, sometimes staring.

I suppose I've walked past her dozens of times, greeting her with a casual "Hello," or "How are you?" I can't say I've taken the time to wait for a response. I've felt her tired eyes following me as I've quickly disappeared around the corner and down the hallway.

But this day, she stopped me cold in my tracks.

  • Library thanks "How-To Festival" supporters

The Taylor County Public Library would like to thank all of those that helped in any way during our first ever "How to Festival."

  • TCHS Project Graduation thanks supporters

Taylor County High School Project Graduation was May 23. The event was a huge success with a large majority of the senior class present. Our main goal was a night of safe fun for the seniors to enjoy with their fellow classmates after graduation. Thanks to so many sponsors in Campbellsville and surrounding areas, we had a tremendous selection of food, many enjoyable games, a free photo booth for the kids and prizes too numerous to mention. We also want to thank all the volunteers who generously gave their time to assist in any way at project graduation.
