  • Fire & Rescue personnel respond to tractor fire

     

    Taylor County Fire & Rescue personnel responded to the report of a tractor and field fire at Cudler Creek Road in Bradfordsville at about 3 p.m. Thursday.

    Upon arrival, firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze. No injuries were reported and, as of press time, no report had been released.

  • Fire & Rescue personnel respond to gas line break

     

    Campbellsville and Taylor County Fire & Rescue personnel responded to the scene of a possible gas line break on Aug. 2 near the intersection of Smith Ridge Road and County Park Road.

    The line was broken when a lawn mower went over it, but was quickly repaired.

    A portion of Smith Ridge Road was closed for a short time.

  • EMS unit honored

     

    Campbellsville/Taylor County EMS personnel have received a Meritorious Unit Commendation from the Campbellsville Police Department in recognition of their exemplary service.

    According to the commendation, EMS Director Gary Magers, Deputy Director Mike Curnutte, Lt. Rhonda Patton-Garrett, paramedics Candice Staton, Ashley Wilcher and Rose Farley-Simpson and EMT Brandon Harvey went above the call of duty on Thursday, July 17, after responding to the scene of a crime against an elderly Campbellsville resident.

  • State treasurer visits TRH to hear health care concerns

     

    State Treasurer Adam Edelen is on a mission.

    He wants to know the problems with rural health care today, and last Tuesday, he came to Taylor Regional Hospital to meet with officials to talk about just that.

    In a public forum, Edelen heard from TRH CEO Jane Wheatley and CEOs of hospitals in Russell, Green and Casey counties. Edelen said the forum, which was attended by about 40 people, was the ninth of 10 he will host across the state.

  • Man charged with sex crimes

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with having sex with a juvenile.

    Dustin L. Janes, 31, of Ethan Lane, was arrested last Monday at 5:20 p.m.

    According to court records, Janes allegedly admitted to Kentucky State Police troopers that he had sex with an underage juvenile three times. He also allegedly said he had oral sex with the juvenile once.

    Janes was charged with second-degree sodomy and three counts of second-degree rape.

  • Sex offender charged with violating registration terms

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with violating the terms of his sex offender registration.

    Roy Mace, 31, was arrested last Monday at about 5:30 p.m.

    According to Mace's arrest citation, Campbellsville Police Officer Bart Gilpin responded to the report of a man at City Hall causing a disturbance.

    Records state that Mace told Gilpin that he is homeless and not in compliance with the terms of his sex offender registration.

  • Warren, Canada to wed

     

    Chrissy Warren and Shawn Canada of Campbellsville announce their engagement.

    Warren is the daughter of Tony Bright and Pamela Bright of Campbellsville. She is the granddaughter of Marjorie Hunt of Campbellsville.

    Warren is a 2013 graduate of Campbellsville University with a Bachelor of Science degree in education.

    She is employed at Wurth Oral, Facial & Cosmetic Surgery PLC in Campbellsville.

    Canada is the son of Glen and Carole Canada of Campbellsville.

  • Resident inducted into Hall of Fame

     

    Campbellsville resident Melvin Doug Martin was recently inducted into the National Association of Conservation Districts Southeast Region Hall of Fame.

    The award was presented at the NACD Southeast Region annual meeting in Louisville last month.

    Presenting the award were Earl Garber of Louisiana, NACD president, and Dan Ellison of Mayfield, Kentucky Association of Conservation Districts president.
