    Margie Livers Holtzclaw of Campbellsville has joined the staff at Massage on Main in Lebanon.

    Holtzclaw graduated from Massage Therapeutics in Louisville in April. She specializes in relaxation, deep tissue, sports massage, orthopedic work, injury work, carpel tunnel, frozen shoulder, patella tendonitis, sciatica and scoliosis, strains and sprains. She is also certified in Kinesio taping.

  • 4-H hosts birdhouse workshop

     

    Taylor County 4-H hosted a free woodworking shop on May 23.

    Using wood and soda cans, students built and painted wren birdhouses with the option of entering them in a Taylor County Fair competition.

  • Elk Horn man charged with making meth

    An Elk Horn man has been arrested and charged with making methamphetamine.

    Samuel L. Trulock, 28, of 747 Dry Creek Road, was arrested Friday, May 31, at 12:19 a.m.

    According to Trulock's arrest warrant, he allegedly had the equipment and materials in his vehicle on Jan. 14 and intended to use them to make meth.

    Trulock was charged with making meth and buy/possession of drug supplies.

    Taylor County Sheriff's Deputy Mark Dickens investigated.

    He pleaded not guilty to the charges in Taylor District Court on Monday, June 3.

  • Franklin earns All-Region Season softball honors

     

    Taylor County High School’s 29-victory softball season produces one All-Fifth Region player as senior left-fielder Haley Franklin was named to the 16-player squad on Thursday.
    Each coach could nominate up to five of their own players, but could not vote for any.
    Region champ Central Hardin had four players on the team, led by Player of the Year, senior Jordan Lasley.

  • TCMS collects conference softball crown

     

    Taylor County Middle School claimed the Mid-Kentucky Conference Softball Championship on May 23 over Marion County.

    The Lady Cardinals' team consists of Shay Williams, McKenzie Cox, Alexis Cook, Lexi Marcum, Madison Burress, Kaylee Pogue, Beth Veach, Caitlin Bright, Faith Gaddis, Kaylee Thompson, Haley Davis, Haley Bloyd, Sarah Grimsley, Sydnee Beard, Bryanna Edrington, Madison Kirkland, Alexis Bragg, Haley Williams, Necole Isaacs, Mackenzie Carney and Sarah Botkin.

  • CMS captures conference baseball championship

     

    Campbellsville Middle School won four games in two days to claim the title in the Mid-Kentucky Middle School Athletic Conference “B” Baseball Tournament.
    The Eagles downed St. Dominic 7-5 and Marion County 11-6 at home before winning at Taylor County 3-2 on May 25.
    CMS gained the top trophy 6-3 over St. Augustine at home on May 29.
    The “B” tourney is for teams from the 13-school circuit with non-eighth-grade starters.
