  • Conservation scholarship winners announced

     

    The winners of this year's Taylor County Conservation District scholarships are Hannah Hall and Mason Arnold.

    Hall and Arnold are Taylor County High School students pursuing careers in agriculture. They will each receive $1,000. The awards were presented at class night in May.

  • TENCO attendees donate backpacks to school resource center

     

    TENCO attendees recently donated a backpack filled with school supplies to the Campbellsville Family Resource and Support Services Center, which will be given to a Campbellsville student.

  • Students win silver medals at national competition

    After winning local and state competitions, Taylor County High School students Kyrsten Hill, Belinda Cheng and Ivy Neal traveled to the National Family, Community, Career, Leadership of America conference in San Antonio, Texas recently and took home silver medals.

    At national competition, they presented their STAR Event, Portfolio in Review and gave a speech about their local FCCLA chapter at Taylor County High School.

  • Resident named to Morehead State University dean's list

    Amber Pearl Ellard of Campbellsville has been named to the dean's list for the spring 2014 semester.

    To be eligible for dean's list, a student must carry a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 hours of classes.

    Kelli Brooke Oschwald and Traver Maurice Dabney were married on Saturday, July 10, at First Presbyterian Church in Lexington.

    Walmart co-manager Gary Cunningham presented $500 to Taylor County Habitat for Humanity.

    The Patriot Quartet will be in concert on Sunday, Aug. 29, at Good Hope Baptist Church.

  • Local student performs at state fair

     

    Samuel Kessler, a freshman at Campbellsville High School, competed at semi-finals competition of the Coca-Cola Talent Classic at Kentucky State Fair on Saturday. He sang "New York State of Mind" and accompanied himself on the piano.

    Those competing on Saturday were between ages 13 to 21 and must have won a preliminary competition to advance to the semi-finals.

    Semi-final contestants were divided into groups to perform and the overall top 20 contestants will advance to finals.
