  • CHS netters advance at region

    Several of Campbellsville High School’s boys’ and girls’ tennis players advanced in the Fifth Region Tournament on Friday.
    Singles’ winners were senior Brooklyn Harris and sophomore Samuel Kessler while in doubles, the teams of senior Morgan Milby/junior Mallory Haley, junior Zack Settle/sophomore Cass Kidwell and sophomore Cody Davis/Campbellsville Middle School eighth-grader Patrick Walker advanced to today’s round at Freeman Lake Park in Elizabethtown.

    Andrea Brooke Sallee and Jonathan Casey Smith, both of Campbellsville, will exchange wedding vows Saturday, May 20.

    Fayth Wise celebrated her seventh birthday March 26.

    Kentucky Christian School recently collected 548 pounds of food for the local food pantry.

    The Campbellsville University Horn Quartet was recently named runner-up in the 2006 Midwest Horn Quartet competition.

  • We Are Taylor County showing tonight

     

    The two-time Fifth Region Tournament basketball champion Taylor County Cardinals will be on the big screen tonight.
    KET and Revived Productions will present “We Are Taylor County” tonight in the high school gymnasium.
    The Taylor County School District will host a viewing party at 7:30 with adult admission being $5 and $2 for Taylor County students and kids from 5 to 18.
    The festivities begin from 7-7:30 with an autograph signing taking place from 7 to 7:30 with the 2015 and 2016 Fifth Region championships.

    The United States Achievement Academy has named Kayla Raganas of Campbellsville a United States National Award Winner in physical education.

    Taylor County Future Farmers of America recently attended a regional competition at Lindsey Wilson College.

  • County's unemployment rate drops slightly

     

    Taylor County’s unemployment rate dropped half a percentage point, from 6.4 percent in February to 5.9 percent in March, according to numbers the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet released last week.

    Of the county’s 11,694-strong workforce, 11,008 were employed and 686 were unemployed.
