    The high school softball and softball seasons wrapped up on Thursday and Saturday of last week with the 20th District Tournaments starting on Monday, May 22 at Adair County.

  • Eagles hit rough baseball stretch

     

    Campbellsville’s baseball Eagles fell at Green County 8-5 on Monday and were shut out at home by LaRue County 10-0 on Tuesday.
    The only CHS hits at Green County came from John Orberson, Ryan Kearney, Treyce Mattingly and Zack Bottoms, who had two RBI. Houk had the lone safety vs. LaRue County.

  • Lady Cards upend Cumberland County, Glasgow

     

  • Cards post seventh straight 20-win season

     

    Taylor County posted its seventh straight 20-win baseball season as the Cardinals downed Casey County 11-7 on the road Monday.
    Tyler Franklin had three hits while Daniel Carney, Marcus Moore  and Griffin Hall had two  each at Casey County with Franklin, Daniel Carney and Grant McQueary knocking in two runs each.
    Elizabethtown (20-7) bested the Cardinals (20-8) on Tuesday at Shaw Field.
    Franklin had another three-hit game (plus two RBI) while Moore had two hits.

    You’ve heard it said about things before, but in this case, it’s really true; track and field is like one big family.

    My son is a thrower (shot put, hammer) at Georgetown College, which is in the Mid-South Conference, with Campbellsville University and Lindsey Wilson College. He’s in his second year, and my wife and I attend every meet, whether it’s nearby or far away. It’s just what we do.
