Several hundred Taylor County residents are still without power more than a week after a winter storm swept through the area, weighing down trees and power lines with a thick coat of ice.
On Tuesday morning, power was restored to a number of Kentucky Utility customers in the High Pine area.
Residents at Air View apartments had been without power for a full week, according to resident Brenda Metcalfe, who sought shelter with a friend.
The temperature inside Metcalfe's apartment dropped to the 30s during the outage, she said. She lost all of her food.
