  • Cusumano receives national recognition as AAPA Distinguished Fellow

    Charles Cusumano of Campbellsville has been recognized as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

    He practices at Crossroads Family Medicine and has been a physician assistant for 33 years.

    He is employed by Dr. Jerome Dixon and has worked with Dixon for the past 15 1/2 years.

    Cusumano earned the recognition due to his outstanding contributions to patient care and the profession during his years as a physician assistant. He also demonstrated significant dedication and involvement in the community.

  • Taylor woman's lost wallet returned

    Michael Pierce was running late for work on the morning of April 7. He pulled up at the Country Store on KY 70 West, hopped out and saw something lying on the pavement. Reaching down, he picked up a billfold and tossed it into his truck, then went on into the store.

    Since he was in a hurry, Pierce said he didn't think much about the billfold until later in the day. When he finally did inspect it, he got a shock.

    "There was a lot of cash in it. I didn't know what to think," Pierce said.

    Casey Caulk was honored with a bridal shower on Sunday, March 9 at the home of Debbie Miller.   • New magistrate for 4th District

    Taylor Fiscal Court members were greeted with a new face Tuesday night.

    Taylor County resident Kenneth Minor was sworn in as 4th District Magistrate just before Tuesday's special meeting.

    Taylor County Judge/Executive Eddie Rogers said before the meeting that Gov. Steve Beshear appointed Minor to the position on April 9.

    The appointment comes after former 4th District Magistrate Marshall Caulk resigned last month, citing health reasons. Caulk is a Democrat.

  • Revival begins Monday at First General Baptist Church

    First General Baptist Church will host a revival beginning Monday, April 21 and continuing through Saturday, April 26.

    On Monday and Tuesday, open prayer service will take place from 5 to 8 each night. From Wednesday through Friday, Bro. Dickie Rodgers will be preaching nightly at 7.

    On Saturday, April 26, Steadfast will be in concert and the youth service will feature Greg Estes speaking. Snacks will be provided by the church following the service.

  • Gospel singing coming to Senior Center

    Cross Over Ministries will present a gospel singing tomorrow evening at the Taylor County Senior Center.

    The event will feature the legendary Carson Howard, a singer, songwriter, recording artist and evangelist. Joining him in the concert will be Cross Over, Russ Milby and other local talents.

    The concert will begin at 7 p.m. at the center, which is located at 110 S. Jackson St. in Campbellsville (next to Jackson Tower).

    Admission price is three non-perishable canned goods.

  • Bank e-mails are hoaxes

    Campbellsville Police are warning residents about fake e-mails claiming to be from local banks.

    Campbellsville Police Chief Dennis Benningfield said that several local banks have contacted police about the e-mails.

    The e-mails ask bank customers to update their account information by clicking on a link. If the customer does this, identity thieves can then intercept their account information as they enter it.

    This type of scam is known as "Phishing."

    Benningfield said residents should disregard the e-mails.
