  • Cash Express collecting for underprivileged

    In this time of economic stress and uncertainty, many people need help. For the fourth consecutive year, Cash Express LLC, located at 1712 E. Broadway, has collected toys, canned food and coats for the underprivileged.

    Cash Express has teamed up with Reverence for Christ Community Church, located at 109 Crescent Hill Drive, to distribute the items.

    Anyone in need of help may contact Ann Hollins of Reverence for Christ at 849-7726.

    Those who would like to drop off donated items may do so at Cash Express or the church.

  • Two complete Cooper Clayton course

    Campbellsville residents Tina Dishman, left, and Donnella Lennox graduated from Taylor County Health Department's Cooper Clayton Smoking Cessation 12-week course. They are now successful non-smokers. The next Cooper Clayton Class will begin Tuesday, Jan. 5 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Taylor County Health Department.

  • Birth Announcements

    Bobby and Lynn Goff of Springfield announce the birth of a daughter, MaKenzie Lynn, at 3:52 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 25 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. She weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce and was 20 inches long.

    Grandparents are Steve and Rosemary Goff and Mary Helen Smith, all of Springfield, and the late Joseph Ivo Smith.

    Toi Fui and Pauline Cheng of Columbia announce the birth of a daughter, Daria, at 8:04 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. She weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 19 3/4 inches long.

  • Minor-McFarland

    Jaclyn Minor and Justin McFarland exchanged wedding vows on Saturday, June 6 at Corinth Baptist Church in London.

    The Rev. Brian Bond and the Rev. James Blaylock performed the ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of Jack and Betty Minor of London, formerly of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are Fred Clem of London and the late Geneva Clem and Parker and Marguerite Minor.

    The groom is the son of Gary and Judy McFarland of Louisville. His grandparents are the late Iven and Dora Skaggs and Vincent and Julia Jarboe.

    Dec. 22, 1999

    Dora Lee Pike, 80, of East Walnut Street, Campbellsville, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at Taylor County Hospital in Campbellsville, after an illness.

    Dr. Jerome Dixon, D.O. was recently certified by the American Association of Medical Review Officers, Inc. as a medical review officer.

    Bennie and Doris Noel of Liberty will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday.

    Bridge to Faith Motorcycle Club recently donated $400 to the Taylor County Fire Department for Toys for Kids.

  • One injured in Saloma Road crash

    A Bardstown resident was injured Saturday in a one-vehicle crash on Saloma Road.

    According to a Taylor County Sheriff's Office report, Kevin Bertram, 48, of 115D Manor Lane was driving a 1998 Honda Civic on Saloma Road at 1:13 a.m.

    Bertram ran off the road and overturned in a ravine, the report states.

    He was transported by Campbellsville/Taylor County Rescue personnel to Taylor Regional Hospital. He was treated and released and later charged with DUI.

    Taylor County Sheriff's Deputy Dickie Benningfield investigated.

  • Two injured in KY 210 collision

    Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision near Walmart on Wednesday.

    According to a Campbellsville Police report, Kamarra Barnett, 24, of Greensburg pulled her 2001 Buick onto KY 210 from the Walmart parking lot and into the path of a 2001 Chevy S10 driven by Jared Underwood, 32, of Campbellsville.

    Barnett and a passenger in Underwood's vehicle, Lela Underwood, 62, were transported to Taylor Regional Hospital by Campbellsville/Taylor County Rescue. Condition reports were unavailable.

  • Bardstown beats short-handed Lady Cards 55-43

    Playing without a pair of starters, MeLeigha Pollock (back injury) and Hope Wigginton (out of town), the Taylor County Lady Cardinals fell 55-43 at Bardstown on Monday night.

    The Lady Cardinals (7-3) trailed only 34-30 at the intermission, but were out-scored 13-6 in the third quarter.

    Freshman Mercedes Cox paced Taylor County with 26 points while juniors Elizabeth Thomas and Alana Claywell added seven apiece.

    The Lady Cardinals begin play Sunday in the Independence Bank Holiday Classic at Daviess County.
