Taylor County Schools has a new superintendent.
Roger Cook, who is wrapping up his fourth year as Russellville Independent superintendent, was named the new Taylor superintendent at a special meeting Monday night.
Cook, a former Taylor County resident, signed a four-year contract and will be paid $120,000 a year. His first day will be July 1.
Cook was one of 34 people who applied for the position, which will be vacated by Gary Seaborne at the end of June. Seaborne has been Taylor superintendent for 27 years.
