  • Campbellsville Christian plans Christmas events

    Campbellsville Christian Church has several upcoming events planned for the Christmas season.

    Sunday, Dec. 14 - The church's children's choir, The Sonlight Kids, will present their musical, "An Island Christmas," on Sunday morning at 10 in the Family Life Center.

    Campbellsville Christian Church's adult choir will present its musical, "Festival of Lights," at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary.

    Sunday, Dec. 21 - Campbellsville Christian Church will host a night of carols during its evening service. The program will begin at 6:30 in the sanctuary.

  • Vaughn celebrates third birthday

    Taylor Alexis Vaughn celebrated her third birthday on Saturday, Nov. 22 at her home with a SpongeBob SquarePants party with family and friends. She is the daughter of Cameron and Erin Vaughn of Lebanon. Her grandparents are Doug and Fran Vaughn of Campbellsville and Joe and Sandy Drye of Lebanon. Great-grandparents are Frances Murrah and Nell Vaughn, both of Campbellsville, and Cecilia Thomas of Lebanon.

  • Pierce celebrates fourth birthday

    Shelbie Pierce celebrated her fourth birthday on Nov. 22 at Sport Spot. She is the daughter of Allen and Angie Pierce of Campbellsville.   • Welcome to our home ... Come on in!

    This year’s Christmas Home Tour, sponsored annually by Campbellsville Woman’s Club, featured nine Taylor County homes.

    The money raised from this annual event goes to support civic projects of the Campbellsville Woman’s Club, including two scholarships to local high school seniors each year.

    Homes included a log cabin owned by Buck and Wanda Lewis, where refreshments were served.

  • Byrd-Hughes

    Bethany Lauren Byrd of Rockwall, Texas and Dustin Wayne Hughes of Frankfort, Ky., will exchange wedding vows on Jan. 24.

    Byrd is the daughter of Ron and Amy Byrd of Rockwall. Her grandparents are Ginnie Hall of Danville and the late Bill Hall.

    She will graduate in December from Georgetown College and will be attending medical school.

    Hughes is the son of Danny and Rhonda Hughes of Frankfort. His grandparents are Wendell and Verla Hughes and Amy Harrison, all of Campbellsville, and the late Johnny Harrison.

  • Man charged in sealed indictment

    A Campbellsville man has been charged with drug crimes in an indictment recently unsealed by a Taylor Circuit Court judge.

    A grand jury may seal an indictment if there is a possibility that the accused will try to evade police.

    John Michael Milby, 19, of 211 Wickliffe Ave. was indicted on charges of first-degree selling a controlled substance, use or possession of drug supplies and possession of marijuana.

  • St. Thomas' Church plans traditional Christmas Eve service

    St. Thomas Episcopal Church, located at 116 South Columbia Ave. in Campbellsville, will observe the annual Celebration of the Birth of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 7 p.m. Christmas Eve, Dec. 24.

    The service will follow the traditional Christmas liturgy with Christmas hymns, scripture readings and Holy Communion.

    Child care facilities are available.

    All are invited and welcome to attend. For more information, call the church at 789-1601.

     

  • CU art exhibit ends Dec. 11

    Kenzie Rice of Lawrenceburg will have her senior art exhibit at Campbellsville University's Art Gallery through Dec. 11.

    The exhibit is free and open to the public.

    Rice will display paintings, ceramics, prints, drawings and mixed media.

    Guest artist will be Sarah Sprague, a junior from Vermont.

    Rice will graduate in May 2009 with a bachelor of science degree in art with a P-12 certification. She exhibited artwork at CU's Juried Student Art Shows in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Her painting "Hebrews 11:1" won third place in the 2008 show.

  • Birth Announcements

    Christina Sanders of Lebanon and Joshua Taylor of Campbellsville announce the birth of a son, Cashus Jayevon Taylor, at 12:07 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. He weighed 8 pounds, 6 1/2 ounces and was 22 inches long.

    Grandparents are Peggy Ingram and Chick Taylor, both of Campbellsville, Diana Sanders of Lebanon and Roger Dale Sanders of Crab Orchard.

    Great-grandmother is Norma Jean Taylor.
