    Matthew and Lindsay Forrest of Campbellsville announce the birth of a son, Aiden Timothy, at 1:47 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. He weighed 10 pounds and was 22 1/2 inches long.

    Grandparents are Mitchell and Pamela Janes of Greensburg and Preston and Linda Forrest of Campbellsville.

    Great-grandparents are Bill and Bessie Janes of Greensburg, Bertha Forrest and Delmar Foster, both of Campbellsville.

  • Caffee-Sallee

    Donna Ann Caffee and Charles Buford Sallee will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, Dec. 12.

    Caffee is the daughter of Don and Elaine Caffee of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are Ayleen Williams and Marine Caffee, both of Campbellsville.

    She is a nursing student at Campbellsville University.

    Sallee is the son of Buford and Jean Sallee of Lebanon.

    He is employed at The Overhead Door Co. in Campbellsville.

  • Walmart Teacher Rewards Program helps TCES teachers offset expenses

    Walmart helped 10 teachers from Taylor County Elementary School purchase much-needed classroom supplies through its new Teacher Rewards Program.

    Selected randomly by the school's principal, Brian Clifford, each teacher was presented with a $100 Teacher Reward Card at a recent award presentation ceremony at Taylor County Elementary School's gymnasium.

    Teachers chosen were: Sheri Turpin, Tonya DeLaGarza, Susan Williams, Angie Kearney, Kay Hughes, Norma Simpson, Karen Scalos, Sarah Rodgers, Jeff Walker and Karen Bruce.

  • Phelps joins C21 Smith Realty Group

    Ken Phelps has joined Century 21 Smith Realty Group, located at 119 Nancy Cox Drive in Campbellsville, as a sales associate.

    He and his wife Van Phelps have lived in Campbellsville for the past 14 years. Their children are Chad Phelps, Josh Phelps and Brooke Montgomery.

    Phelps was the former broker and past owner of Countryside Real Estate LLC. He has more than eight years of experience in the real estate industry. He's also the former owner of Sun Country Pools and is a retired schoolteacher.

  • Campbellsville Baptist to stage 'The Ornament' on Sunday

    Campbellsville Baptist Church will present "The Ornament" on Sunday morning during its 8:30 and 11 a.m. worship services.

    "The Ornament" delves into the lives of a loving, faithful - but dysfunctional - family dealing with issues during the holiday season. As they maneuver issues of unemployment, an uncertain future, death of a loved one and divorce, they find that God can speak through the most unlikely source and give a true message of hope and strength.

  • Compton-Smith Battery hosts ribbon cutting

    Compton-Smith Battery Co. recently hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony at its new building, located at 3120 Old Lebanon Road in Campbellsville. The late Norwood Compton started the business in 1965 and it was sold to the Smith brothers in 1999. Compton-Smith Battery Co. is a wholesale distributor of DEKA batteries, and its employees service what they sell. Pictured are owners Barry Smith and Gerald Smith, their mother Helen Smith, chamber ambassadors, city representatives and DEKA battery suppliers Carl Payne and Ken Hulse of Taylor Battery Co. in Louisville.

    Tim and Peggy Richardson will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, Dec. 14.

    Teri RoBards, daughter of Richard and Linda RoBards of Campbellsville, was recently inducted into the Golden Key National Honor Society at Western Kentucky University.

    Lowell Avenue Baptist Church will be joining with South Campbellsville Baptist Choir for a Christmas cantata.

    Blake Moss, 2, participated in the New Star Discovery Most Beautiful Baby Contest on Sunday, Dec. 5 at Best Western in Campbellsville.

  • Collett-Conn

    Whitley Collett and Drew Conn, both of Columbia, will exchange wedding vows on Saturday.

    Collett is the daughter of Tracy Warner of Columbia and the late Kyle Collett. Her grandparents are Chester and Charlene Warner of Elk Horn, Clifford Collett of Corbin and Jim and Betty Gilbert of Campbellsville.

    She is employed at Personal Touch Home Health in Columbia.

    Conn is the son of Bill and Betty Conn of Columbia. His grandparents are Bill Sr. and Lucille Conn and Henry and Allene Bennett, all of Columbia.

    He is employed at Gaddie Shamrock in Columbia.

  • TCHS Class of 1974 hosts reunion

    Taylor County High School Class of 1974 hosted is 35th year reunion on Oct. 24 at the Taylor County Middle School cafeteria.
