  • CU to air 'Dialogue on Public Issues' with senator

    Campbellsville University's TV-4 will air a "Dialogue on Public Issues" episode with Sen. David Givens, R-Greensburg, on Wednesday, June 3.

    TV-4 is shown on Comcast Cable Channel 10 in Campbellsville.

    The show, which features interviews with John Chowning, vice president for church and external relations and executive assistant to the president at Campbellsville University, will air at 1:30 and 7 p.m. June 3.

    It will also be featured on the Campbellsville University Web site next week.

  • Hudgins crowned Miss Casey County Teen

    Taylor Hudgins, 15, won the 2009 Miss Casey County Teen pageant Saturday, May 30 in Liberty. Hudgins will advance to Louisville in October. She is the daughter of Tim and Cindy Hudgins of Campbellsville. Her grandparents are Rachel Hovious of Campbellsville and Bernice Hudgins of Greensburg.

    Sarah Reynolds has been named a United States National Award winner in sciences and physical education.

    Gayle Cash Newton, 62, of Hodgenville Road, Campbellsville, died Thursday, May 27, 1999, in Campbellsville.

  • New Life Voices in concert Sunday

    New Life Voices will be in concert on Sunday at Campbellsville Church of the Nazarene. The all-day event begins at 11 a.m. The church is located at 912 W. Main St. For more information, call Pastor Clifton Hale at 465-4620.

  • Benningfield Kids Corner

    Jacob Andrew Benningfield celebrated his sixth birthday on May 29. Jelsie Claire and Joshua Clay Benningfield celebrated their third birthday on March 6. They are the children of Jason and Jessica Benningfield of Campbellsville. Their grandparents are Bonnie and Clyde Benningfield of Campbellsville and Letitia and Howell Hallmark of Bradfordsville.

    Jeanine Jeffries and Chris Parker, both of Campbellsville, will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, June 27.

    Jeffries is the daughter of Gillis and Barbara Boils of Campbellsville and Bill and Becky Noel of Louisville. Her grandparents are Nonna and Woody Woods of Greencastle, Ind., and the late Gordon and Imogene Boils, Ray and Jewell Webb and Gene Noel. Her great-grandparents are Velma Tungate and the late Jesse Tungate.

    She is a 2002 graduate of Taylor County High School and is a stay-at-home mom of the couple's two children.

  • Campbellsville Christian to host final in series of anniversary celebrations

    Campbellsville Christian Church will conclude the celebration of its 125th anniversary on Sunday.

    The theme of the day is "Focus on the Future" and will feature the children and student ministries of the church.

    Guests for the day will be former youth ministers Kevin Comp, John Parkey and John Welsh. Church youth will provide music leadership, serving staff and special music.

    The celebration will conclude with a balloon launch for the children.

  • Relay for Life schedule of events

    The Taylor County Relay for Life will begin Friday, June 5 and end at 6 a.m. Saturday, June 6 at Taylor County High School's football field. The annual event raises money for the American Cancer Society.

    This year's theme is "A Walk to Remember."

  • Asbury to host youth events

    Asbury Student Ministry is kicking off the summer in grand style. The ministry has some events planned for students and adults.

    On Saturday, the ministry will host a yard sale fundraiser. They will accept donations through tomorrow. Clothes, toys, antiques, etc. may be dropped off at the church office between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tax forms are available.

    The yard sale will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday in the parking lot of Asbury Worship and Life Development Center.
