Life is good for Rachel Blankenship. She retired from Taylor Regional Hospital two months ago after 28 years of service as a CNA in outpatient surgery. Her husband, Billy Gene, is also retired.
Blankenship, 67, stays busy. On Wednesdays, she cooks at South Campbellsville Baptist Church. Thursdays are reserved for line dancing. At home, she tends to her flower gardens.
She also participates in the Relay for Life each year. In the past, she was a member of the hospital team as well as her church's team.
It's a cause that's very important to her.
