  • Man charged with taking gun into Walmart

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with having a concealed gun at Walmart.

    Tavin Grayson, 27, of East Broadway, was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 27, at 5:55 p.m.

    According to Grayson's arrest citation, Campbellsville Police Officer Jacob Hedgespeth wrote that a loss prevention officer approached him as he was patrolling the store. The officer told Hedgespeth, court records state, that a man in the store had a pistol in his boot and customers were complaining.

  • Man charged with firing gun in home

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested for firing a gun inside a home and threatening to kill two people.

    Daniel Mings, 57, of Bright Ridge Road, was arrested Thursday, Dec. 4, at 4:03 p.m.

    According to court records, Taylor County Sheriff's Deputy Branden Wilson responded to a report of a man being intoxicated and shooting a gun inside a home.

    Records state that Mings allegedly pointed the gun at a woman and her child and told him he was going to blow their heads off.

  • Man charged with assaulting police officer

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with assaulting and threatening a police officer.

    Jacob Fink, 27, of Purcell Court, was arrested Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 10:48 p.m.

    According to Fink's arrest citation, Campbellsville Police Officer Jacob Hedgespeth was dispatched to investigate the report of an uninvited man being inside a home. Records state that Fink had been warned only minutes before to not be at the home.

    When making contact with Fink at the home, records state, he was unsteady on his feet and was slurring his speech.

  • Man charged with abusing child

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with abusing a child.

    Kevin M. Chaulklin, 36, of Perks Drive, was arrested Sunday, Dec. 7, at 8 p.m.

    According to Chaulklin's arrest citation, Kentucky State Police troopers responded to Jane Todd Hospital in Greensburg on Nov. 23 to investigate the possible assault of a 4-year-old girl.

    When arriving at the hospital, the girl's mother told troopers that her daughter had been visiting Chaulklin earlier that day and came home with a very large friction burn on her back.

  • Man charged with DUI

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with allegedly driving a car while under the influence of marijuana.

    Joshua Danell Barbour, 31, of Elm Street, was arrested Friday, Dec. 5, at 12:07 a.m.

    According to Barbour's arrest citation, Campbellsville Police Officer Dexter Colvin stopped him after he allegedly drove through a red traffic light.

    When approaching the vehicle, Colvin wrote in court records, he smelled marijuana coming from inside.

  • Kentucky State Police statistics

    During the month of November, there were 21 motor vehicle collisions investigated by Kentucky State Police troopers working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Taylor, Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell and Washington.

    There were four fatal collisions during the month of November in the Post 15 area. Two were in Green County and the others were in Washington and Metcalfe County.

    This brings the yearly fatality count to 33 compared with 19 through the same period in 2013.
