Taylor County Animal Shelter staff members are receiving complaints that residents are allowing their dogs to run without supervision.
Taylor County Judge/Executive Eddie Rogers said he gets calls about the problem almost daily, and he knows magistrates are getting the same complaints.
"A lot of people don't realize that the county does have a leash law," he said.
Rogers said animal shelter staff members need help to make sure residents keep their dogs under control. He said the issue is starting to create problems between neighbors.
