    Casey County rolled up its second straight 50-point, home-field effort of the young season and Friday night it was at the expense of Campbellsville.
    The Rebels posted four first-half touchdowns and led the Eagles 28-6 at the intermission en route to the 50-18 triumph in Liberty.

    William Rayburn “Billy” and Jane Carol Kessler Vaughn will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on Sunday, September 2.

    John and Farrah McLean of Campbellsville announce the birth of a son, Cole Lakin, at 9:23 a.m. on Friday, July 27 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces and was 19 ½ inches long.

    Taylor County High School Class of 1967 hosted their 40-year reunion on July 7 at Taylor County Elementary School.

  • Fire destroys barn on Bengal Road

     

    A fire on Bengal Road Monday destroyed a barn. The blaze began around 2 p.m. Monday shortly after a storm passed through the area. No official cause has been determined, but officials have said they believe a lightning strike could have been what started the fire. No injuries were reported.

  • Changes taking place at KCA for new school year

     

    School has been back in session for two weeks now, and at Kentucky Christian Academy, the school year is off to a strong start according to school officials.

    Although there were several changes at the school, which is located off Old Columbia Road in Campbellsville, the school year has gotten off to a smooth start.

    There are several new faces around KCA this year, with three new teachers and several new staff additions throughout the school.

  • Local man arrested, charged in ATV theft

     

    A Campbellsville man was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property over $500 on Sunday, according to a Taylor County Sheriff’s Office report.

    Brandon Hicks, 24, of Campbellsville was arrested and lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center just after 10 p.m. Sunday.

    According to the report, TCSO received a request from the Barren County Sheriff’s Office to attempt to locate a stolen 2014 Honda Rancher ATV.

    During the course of that investigation, TCSO located evidence that linked Hicks to the missing ATV.

  • Eclipse 2017: Science in the sky

     

    All eyes were glued to the sky Monday afternoon, as the much-hyped solar eclipse came across Kentucky, and through Campbellsville and Taylor County as well.

    Children and adults alike were looking upward to see the rare event, as solar eclipses of this magnitude can only be seen in the area once a century.
