  • Man charged with abusing child

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with abusing a child.

    Kevin M. Chaulklin, 36, of Perks Drive, was arrested Sunday, Dec. 7, at 8 p.m.

    According to Chaulklin's arrest citation, Kentucky State Police troopers responded to Jane Todd Hospital in Greensburg on Nov. 23 to investigate the possible assault of a 4-year-old girl.

    When arriving at the hospital, the girl's mother told troopers that her daughter had been visiting Chaulklin earlier that day and came home with a very large friction burn on her back.

  • Man charged with DUI


    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with allegedly driving a car while under the influence of marijuana.

    Joshua Danell Barbour, 31, of Elm Street, was arrested Friday, Dec. 5, at 12:07 a.m.

    According to Barbour's arrest citation, Campbellsville Police Officer Dexter Colvin stopped him after he allegedly drove through a red traffic light.

    When approaching the vehicle, Colvin wrote in court records, he smelled marijuana coming from inside.

  • Kentucky State Police statistics

    During the month of November, there were 21 motor vehicle collisions investigated by Kentucky State Police troopers working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Taylor, Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell and Washington.

    There were four fatal collisions during the month of November in the Post 15 area. Two were in Green County and the others were in Washington and Metcalfe County.

    This brings the yearly fatality count to 33 compared with 19 through the same period in 2013.

  • Fire department celebrates 100th anniversary

    Spread out across two tables are hundreds and hundreds of old photographs.

    As the firefighters pass by during their shifts, they pick up a few and look through them. Many recognize the people in the photos, while others remember responding to the scenes depicted.

    Campbellsville Fire Department celebrated its 100th anniversary this October. And while the anniversary date has passed, that doesn't mean officials aren't working to recognize the milestone.
