  • Police investigating stolen vehicle

    Campbellsville Police are investigating a report of a vehicle stolen in south Campbellsville.

    According to a news release, officers received a report on Saturday at 12:53 p.m. that a vehicle was taken from Green River Glass Co. on Carnation Street, off of South Columbia Avenue. A 2003 GMC W4500 truck and other equipment was taken.

    Officers Scotty Perian and Bart Gilpin investigated.

    Later that day, Perian found the vehicle abandoned in the South Campbellsville Baptist Church parking lot. The vehicle was returned to Green River Glass Co.

  • Local man arrested after traffic stop

     

    A Campbellsville man was arrested Friday after police stopped a vehicle and found a passenger had several outstanding warrants for his arrest.

    According to a Campbellsville Police report, Officer Scotty Perian stopped a vehicle at 8:38 p.m. for several equipment violations.

    The report states that as Perian investigated the passengers, he found that Seferino R. Mejia, 57, of 2931 Greensburg Road, had several outstanding warrants in Taylor and Marion counties.

  • Campbellsville man charged with selling drugs

     

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with selling drugs.

    According to a Campbellsville Police report, officers Scotty Perian and Branden Wilson responded Friday at 11:15 p.m. to suspected drug activity at 118 Baptist St.

    After an investigation, according to the report, Boyce Johnson, 58, who lives at the Baptist Street home, was arrested and charged with possession of drug supplies, possession of marijuana and first-degree selling cocaine.

    He was lodged at the Taylor County Detention Center.

  • Campbellsville man arrested after traffic stop

    A Campbellsville man has been arrested and charged with traffic violations after being stopped by Campbellsville Police.

    According to a news release, Officer Scotty Perian was patrolling on Handley Avenue last Friday at 8:13 p.m. when he saw a pickup truck with three male occupants experiencing equipment difficulties.

    The report states that, after stopping the vehicle, Perian learned that the driver, Ernst F. Ford, 46, of 305 Handley Ave., did not have a driver's license.

  • Vacant home destroyed by fire

    A vacant home on Tebbs Bend Road was destroyed by fire on Thursday at about 5:20 p.m.

    According to a Taylor County Fire & Rescue news release, firefighters were dispatched to 152 Tebbs Bend Road and found a two-story home with heavy fire in the rear and upstairs.

    The 22 firefighters were unable to enter the home because of the large volume of fire, which made the structure unsafe.

    The firefighters were on the scene for about three hours with four apparatus.

    The cause of the fire hasn't yet been determined.

  • KSP investigating house fire

    Kentucky State Police are investigating the cause of a fire at a home on Friendship Road last Thursday at about 10:30 a.m.

    According to a Taylor County Fire & Rescue news release, firefighters arrived at the scene and found the house about three-fourths involved.

    The owner, David Cowherd, nor any occupants, were at home at the time of the fire.

    Sixteen firefighters were on the scene for about three hours with four apparatus.

  • One injured in South Central crash

    A Campbellsville man was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday.

    According to a Campbellsville Police report, the crash occurred at 7:45 p.m. at South Central Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

    April Brewer, 38, of Campbellsville, was traveling east on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard when, according to the report, she pulled from a stopped position into the path of a motorcycle operated by William J. Simpson, 27, of Campbellsville.

  • Woman charged with DUI, bringing drugs into jail

    A Campbellsville woman has been arrested and charged after she allegedly drove drunk and then brought marijuana into the Taylor County Detention Center.

    Suzanne L. Corbo, 25, of 317 Bell Court, was arrested Friday, Feb. 22, at 11:32 p.m.

    According to Corbo's arrest citation, Campbellsville Police received a complaint of someone driving a vehicle without its headlights illuminated.
